When you have your parental buy-in, your device and associated package selected and ordered you need to consider with as much care the deployment process. Even if you are launching to one cohort you will have a lot of device serial numbers to record, possibly software to load and Home School agreements to prepare.
Different schools approach this in different ways but there is a lot to be said for presenting the children and parents with the component parts and allowing them (or at least supervising them) to unpack and prepare their package. It enhances the feeling of ownership and also begins the familiarisation process for the child and their parents. It also gives you the opportunity to explain certain procedures and to collect signatures on the Home School agreement.
